That was an exciting Safari Encounter on May 18 for the Cebu chapter of Chaine des Rotissuers. It was a veritable feast for the senses at Michel Lhuillier’s Cebu Safari and Adventure Park in Toril, Carmen, Cebu.
The encounter was with the lush Flora, as exemplified by a million orchids in bloom and the Fauna comprised by the best zoological collection of wild animals in their ideal created habitats.
To complete the event there was the preparation of an impressive menu by the team of the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel which brought equipment and ingredients the night before. They achieved excellent results.
Next event will be on Saturday, August 17 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. The theme is Filipiniana Modern.” What does it mean? Men are requested to wear Barong Tagalog, and the ladies may don the most imaginative versions of Philippines dress.
A factor of paramount importance in any event of La Chaine is gastronomy. That has been discussed by board member Dr. Nestor Alonso and Bailli Delegue Michel Lhuillier with Anders Hallden, the Waterfront’s General Manager.
The menu revolves around the theme of “Chocolate Decadence,” brought about the hotel’s culinary team and special guest Chocolate Sommelier Raquel Choa. To cite an example, we have the fish dish:
Cod fish fillet coated with steamed zucchini, carrot-sage pudding, red onion-ginger, tsokolate marmalade, with citrus fresh cocoa beans sauce.
After dinner, Raquel Choa invites you to indulge in the Casa de Cacao cake buffet. That should supply energy to heighten the party mood for the rest of the evening.
Only 100 seats are available, at Php5,000.00 per member or guest. The fun starts at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 8 p.m.
